CSS Design Authoring Tools

You previously created a mock-up for your redesigned newspaper Web site. This week, you will take that mock-up of the first page and format it in HTML using Dreamweaver. Your HTML cannot include tables. Your entire site design must use CSS to customize the appearance of the HTML elements. You do not need to include the navigation scheme; you will complete that part of the design later. When you are done, archive your root directory into a .zip file and submit it.

If you have not already obtained Web Hosting, now would be a good time to obtain a host and upload your finished assignment to the Web. See the Phase 2 Web resources for free Web Hosting options.

Assignment Guidelines:

• Using Dreamweaver, create the home page for your Web site using the mock-up from the Phase 1 Individual Project.
  • Your HTML cannot include any tables at this point in the project.
  • Your Web site must use an external style sheet to customize the appearance of your site’s HTML elements.
  • The site navigation scheme does not need to be created at this point in the project.
• Save your .html and .css files as index.html and style.css respectively.
• Save your index.html, style.css, image files, and any other files that you used in the creation of your Web site in a .zip folder.

Your submitted assignment must include the following:

• A .zip folder that contains your index.html, style.css, image files, and any other files that you used to create the home page of your Web site. Please be sure that your Web site adheres to the Assignment Guidelines listed above.
