Information Storage and Management Plan

You work in the IT organization of a new
online university. The CIO has assigned you to a team to develop a
strategic Information Storage and Management Plan. This plan will
include a high-level overview of data center management, cloud
computing, business continuity, and storage management and monitoring.
Each week as a Learning Team you will discuss each section of the
Information Storage and Management Plan template.

Week Two

Discuss the purpose and requirements of the overall project.

Identify key elements of a
data center environment and recommend the key elements that your
organization should implement in its data centers. Discuss data center
infrastructure, core elements of databases, servers and operating
systems, network and storage arrays.

Discuss the advantages of
each key element and provide justification and support to encourage the
CIO to implement the key elements of a data center that you recommend.

Based on your Week Two Learning Team Collaborative discussion, complete
Section 1, Introduction, and Appendix A of the Information Storage and
Management Plan. Section 1 includes subsections 1.1 Executive Overview
and 1.2 Objectives. Define any technical terms used in Appendix A.
Section 1 should be no more than 260 words in length.

Start working on Section 2 of the Information Storage and Management Plan.

Complete subsections 2.1
Data Center Infrastructure, 2.2 Managing Storage Infrastructure, and 2.3
RAID. Sections 2.2 and 2.3 should be no more than 260 words in length.

Format your Plan according to APA guidelines.
