Analyzing Pop Culture Relationships

For this assignment, you will write a paper analyzing two relationships in television or movies, one with conflict and one without.

Objectives:

• Define the stages of interpersonal relationships and analyze the types of messages associated with each stage.
• Explain interpersonal relationship types and the theories of interpersonal communication.
• Explore the concept of interpersonal conflict, including the three principles of conflict and myths associated with the concept.

Instructions:

1. Review the stages of interpersonal relationships and the types of messages associated with each stage in the textbook and in the learning activities.
2. Review interpersonal relationship types and the theories of interpersonal communication in the textbook and in the learning activities.
3. Think of one relationship from a television show or movie that has conflict and one that does not.
4. Write a three to five-page paper analyzing those two relationships.
5. Your paper should include a discussion of the stages of interpersonal relationships and the types of messages associated with each stage, as well as interpersonal relationship types and the theories of interpersonal communication. Include links to clips or refer to specific episodes or time markers in the show(s) or film(s).
