Expectations for Paper 1. Choose an appropriate topic. Please be sure to a current event that demonstrates 2 or 3 of the concepts that we have covered this term in Human Resource Management . 2. Choose only 2 or 3 concepts to describe in depth and evaluate in the context of your chosen topic. The paper is relatively short (only 5 pages), so you do not have space to thoroughly analyze the event using more than 2 or 3 concepts. Analyzing the event according to more than 2 or 3 concepts would detra ct from the quality of the paper, as it would only allow for superficial descriptions given the page limit. 3. Be sure to link the chosen concepts back to the event. 4. Define your key terms. For example, when you first mention the HRM concepts, define them to orient your reader. Any key terms in your paper should include a definition . 5. Make sure that you include citations for any statements in your paper that are not your original thoughts. Plagiarism is grounds for academic misconduct, so please be diligent about using citations. Examples of sources that need to be cited and include in the references are: the textbook, news articles, websites, peer reviewed journal articles, books, book chapters. The reference page does not count towards the page limit. 8. For all citations and references, please use the 7 th edition of APA style . I have included a website URLs below that outline the formatting style for in -text citations and references: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_g uide/general_format.html 9.
