Select an organization that you currently work in, or have worked in recently and have extensive knowledge about. Ask permission from the appropriate organizational official for you to undertake this report. Assume the organization you have selected is at the beginning of a strategic planning process and as part of this process, wants to an assessment of and recommendations to enhance its current OB related practices. Assume that you have been asked to serve as the organization’s internal consultant and are required to take a dispassionate, evidenced-based assessment of the organization, using important and practical guidelines associated with well researched and established organizational behavior concepts as evaluative yardsticks.

1. 1. Module 1 Assignment: 1. Provide a detailed description of the organization that you will be assessing. Make sure you provide the name of this organization. If necessary, a made-up /alias for this organization can be used in the report, so long as you let me know the Actual name of the organization you have selected. Make sure you include the location, history, size and structure of this organization. Also make sure to clearly describe the goods, products and or services that this organization provides. 2. In your own words contrast the Classical Approach to management with the Human Relations Approach. In your own words, contrast the assumptions underlying McGregor’s Theory X approach with the Theory Y approach. Provide two reasons explaining why, irrespective of the approach a manager adopts, the assumptions underlying the adopted approach is likely to become true and a self-fulfilling prophecy (Pygmalion or Golom effect).3.
