\nStudent one: Some of my strengths within a group is keeping the group on task, organizing and being able to communicate effectively for some members who may not be able to do so. Listening to others and being open minded to ideas that are being presented is a crucial part of not only being a leader but being in a group period. It\u2019s counterproductive to only talk and not listen to what others have to say, we must keep in mind that some people are not as forward or out spoken as others and sometimes asking \u201cWhat do you think?\u201d can go a long way in the group, plus you never know what you may learn from others. We have to be respectful of people thoughts, ideas, suggestions and time, without doing that a group will have a hard time succeeding. Something I have experienced with group work in past is you have to designate a leader and let them lead but not take over or do all the work. —TJ DB6
\nStudent two: One of the most frustrating thing is having to work in groups for a class project. You’re relying on every group member to do their share of work in order for a good grade and majority of the time their share of work is not contributed and now you’re penalized for it although you did your part. I got lucky for one of my class projects. I ended up with four members who were very determined to get 100%. We each took turns sharing our ideas without criticizing others opinions. From there each of the members stated what they were going to do instead of having to assign each person to a specific task that they may not like. One had suggested that those with smaller task would help with half of those with the larger task. The key to having a high performing team is making sure you’re open to listening to others ideas. In this group, it was a high performing team because we listened to others ideas and instead of picking at them we tried to incorporate them all together and add on to it. The group was positive towards everything with no complaints. Help was offered throughout the group by each member because we wanted to make sure we got the grade that we each deserved. —LY OSCM

\nStudent three: I agree that effective communication is a crucial component of working in a group, as a whole we have to sit aside our feelings to a certain extent to reach a greater goal but we should still be mindful to be respectful of our team. In addition you hit the nail on the head when you speak on the role of a leader and setting precedence of what is required.
\nStudent four: It is very important for groups to mesh well together and I believe that is a big factor why it made work pleasant for you to go to. It always helps getting out of bed when you know you will be surrounded with individuals you like. I enjoyed how you brought up the point that, “In order to reinforce the behavior modeled, the individuals who emulate positive behavior successfully should be rewarded.” This sentence proves that if you are focused and work hard enough with positive attitude you will achieve the grade you are shooting for.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
