As I am sure you are aware, the United States is currently faced with a deadly and costly Public Health crisis – the opioid overdose epidemic. Opiate overdose deaths now are the leading cause of adult deaths under the age of 54, and the mortality statistics continue to climb. In addition to the tragic impacts on families and loved ones, there is a growing concern that our communities may not be able to continue to sustain the cost of responding to, and treating the ever-increasing numbers of overdose victims in our cities and towns across the nation. <\/p>\n
