This weekly writing response is formatted different from previous assignments. Please read the instructions close so you’ll understand how to respond.

The booklet, “Changing the Race: Racial Politics and the Election of Barack Obama” discusses a number of topics related to “race” and “racism” that impacted the historic election of the first Black U.S. president, Barack Obama.

For this assignment, you will need to answer the Discussion Questions for two articles (see page numbers) that correspond with the first letter in your last name. For example, if your last name starts with an “A” you will answer the questions for the two articles between pp. 12-19. I will identify the other last name initials and page numbers below.

While you only have to answer the Discussion Questions for the articles that correspond with your last name here, questions from the entire booklet will be on the final exam. Thus, it’s a good idea to read the entire booklet now so you won’t have to circle back and read it before the final.
