1. Discussion Unit #5 Thread A Complete the Multiple Intelligences Survey in the File: 3 – Pathways to Learning: Gardner: Multiple Intelligences – Survey.
2. When you have completed the “Total and Personal Profile” at the end of the survey, think about your “Profile of Intelligences.”
3. Return to UNIT V-Topic A.
4. Discuss your Multiple Intelligences Profile.
   1. List each intelligence and state the score you got in each area.
   2. What was your reaction to the results of this survey.
5. Remember: Gardner believes that all of us possess each of these intelligences to some degree. It is possible to experience teaching to all of the intelligences. It is also possible to gain strength in an area of intelligence, or an area of intelligence may be weak due to lack of education or experiences in that intelligence.
6. As our profiles indicate, we show strengths in some areas and weaknesses in others. Think about WHY this is so for you.
7. In a few sentences tell WHY. (For example: If you scored lower in Musical Intelligences, perhaps it was because you never were given opportunities to learn and experience music. OR If you scored high in Interpersonal, perhaps it was because your job responsibilities have provided you with daily experiences and practice in this intelligence).
8. Think how you can increase your potential in each intelligence. Unit 5 Thread #B During your time at Neumann College, you have had opportunities to learn. What and how you learn depends upon your interests, motivation, and perhaps needs. In a surface learning experience, one seldom thinks about or participates in learning activities beyond the first or second levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy-Cognitive Domain. Information is usually quickly forgotten. On the other hand, when learning takes place at the upper levels of the Cognitive Domain, the learner engages in critical thinking. During the critical thinking process, new information can now become part of a knowledge base and have meaning for the learner. How you learn depends upon your motivation and the way in which you structure your learning experiences. Moving from extrinsic to intrinsic motivation in order to learn a body of information can be the difference between “surface learning” and “being at the center of your learning.” It is important to understand how you as a learner can effectively learn.Think about the information contained in the last reading assignment of The Annotated Mona Lisa. Write the levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy-Cognitive Domain. (See Instructional Units-Unit V). Under each cognitive domain level, state in a sentence or two something you could do to learn that reading assignment’s information. (For ideas-look at the list of verbs under each cognitive domain).
