Media assignment

Assignment Details:

This paper is a comparative analysis and discussion of your use and consumption of mass media (film, TV, radio, newspaper, etc) and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc), and the media consumption of an older member of your family (grandparent, uncle/aunt, parent). You need to conduct an interview of the family member (in person or via Skype) for details on his/her media consumption. Do keep in mind that you need to focus on how they consumed and used mass media when they were younger (which mass media they used predominantly, how, with what frequency, to what effect, etc), and NOT their current consumption of media. Also, your paper must include excerpts from the interview to support your analysis. Remember to compare and contrast to highlight the inter-generational differences in media usage and consumption.

Important: You are required to include a bibliography (APA style), and also, use in-text citations, when required. The bibliography and cover page are NOT inclusive of the minimum length requirement (5 pages). Make sure you follow a proper essay format –introduction (with a clear and specific thesis), body paragraphs, and conclusion. Also, remember to include a creative title!

VERY IMPORTANT: You should NOT be talking about interpersonal communication (phone, Skype, email, etc).
